At 929 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Semora, or 8 miles northwest of Roxboro, moving southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Danville... South Boston... Yanceyville... Bethel... Jericho... Prospect Hill... and Turbeville. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. In west central Virginia, Franklin. * WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 847 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Ditto Branch, Flippins Creek, Fishing Fork, Banister River, Beaver Creek, Coles Creek, Finney Branch, Big Chestnut Creek and Crab Creek.
