At 929 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Semora, or 8 miles northwest of Roxboro, moving
southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Locally heavy rain will quickly reduce visibility and result in
ponding of water on roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and
minor flooding of creeks, streams, and areas of poor drainage.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution to avoid
hydroplaning.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and west central Virginia,
including the following counties, in south central Virginia, Henry
and Pittsylvania. In west central Virginia, Franklin.

* WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 847 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Ditto Branch, Flippins Creek, Fishing Fork, Banister River,
Beaver Creek, Coles Creek, Finney Branch, Big Chestnut Creek
and Crab Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
