TONIGHT...

* WHAT...East winds 10 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt.

* WHERE...Tidal Potomac River from Key Bridge to Cobb Island MD,
Chesapeake Bay north of Sandy Point MD, Patapsco River
including Baltimore Harbor, Chester River to Queenstown MD,
and Patuxent River to Broomes Island MD.

* WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EDT
THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level
expected in low lying areas due to tidal flooding.

* WHERE...Shoreline in the District of Columbia, Arlington
County, and the City of Alexandria.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM EDT Thursday, especially around the time of
high tide.

* IMPACTS...Shoreline inundation is expected along portions of the
seawall adjacent to Ohio Drive and the Hains Point Loop Road and
near the Tidal Basin. Water is expected to approach the curb
near the intersection of King Street and Strand Street in
Alexandria. Low-lying areas near Fletcher's Boathouse will begin
to flood, and water begins to overflow the banks at the mouth
of Rock Creek. Additionally, portions on the Swamp Trail on
Roosevelt Island are flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides two to two and a half feet above
normal. The next two high tides at Washington Channel are at
3:23 PM and 3:58 AM. The next two high tides at Alexandria are
at 3:41 PM and 4:16 AM.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
