IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Ogden, Layton, Farmington, Hill Air Force Base, Roy, Clearfield, Kaysville, Syracuse, Clinton, South Ogden, Centerville, Washington Terrace, Riverdale, South Weber, Uintah, Weber State University, West Point, Sunset, Fruit Heights, and Mountain Green. HAZARD...Tornado and ping pong ball size hail. SOURCE...Weather spotters reported funnel cloud. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This dangerous storm will be near... Layton, Morgan, and South Weber around 150 PM MDT. At 133 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 12 miles south of Great Salt Lake South of the Causeway to 9 miles southeast of Skull Valley. Movement was northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Tooele, Grantsville, Stansbury Park, Tooele Army Depot, Magna, Bingham Canyon Mine, Great Salt Lake South of the Causeway, Stockton, Rush Valley, Erda, Copperton, Lake Point, and Antelope Island State Park. This storm will be capable of producing strong gusty winds on the Great Salt Lake. This will lead to a sudden increase in waves and very choppy waters which will result in hazardous boating conditions. Boaters are urged to seek safe harbor if possible.
