...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 330 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected * WHERE...A portion of central Utah, including the following county, Sevier. * WHEN...Until 330 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over Interstate 70 is possible between mile markers 75 and 85, west of Fremont Junction. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1235 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.75 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Interstate 70 between mile markers 75 and 85, west of Fremont Junction. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM NOON MDT TODAY THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of Utah, including the following areas, Bear Lake and Bear River Valley, Bryce Canyon Country, Cache Valley/Utah Portion, Capitol Reef National Park and Vicinity, Castle Country, Central Mountains, Eastern Juab/Millard Counties, Glen Canyon Recreation Area/Lake Powell, Lower Washington County, San Rafael Swell, Sanpete Valley, Sevier Valley, South Central Utah, Southern Mountains, Southwest Utah, Upper Sevier River Valleys, Wasatch Back, Wasatch Mountains I-80 North, Wasatch Mountains South of I-80, Wasatch Plateau/Book Cliffs, Western Canyonlands, Western Uinta Basin, Western Uinta Mountains and Zion National Park and Wyoming, including the following area, Southwest Wyoming.
