...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 AM MDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...West Central Kane County in southern Utah... East Central Washington County in southwestern Utah... * WHEN...Until 815 AM MDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, slot canyons, normally dry washes and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Waterways continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 554 AM MDT, gauge reports indicated flooding continues due to earlier thunderstorms. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Zion National Park, Springdale, Rockville, and all slot canyons in Zion National Park, as well as the East Fork and North Fork of the Virgin River. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Dry washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall. &&

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of Utah, including the following areas, San Rafael Swell, Bryce Canyon Country, Capitol Reef National Park and Vicinity, Glen Canyon Recreation Area/Lake Powell, South Central Utah, Southern Mountains, Upper Sevier River Valleys, Western Canyonlands, Lower Washington County, Southwest Utah and Zion National Park. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, dry washes, slot canyons, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations such as slickrock areas and recent burn scars. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Deep tropical moisture will continue to bring the threat of heavy rainfall to portions of southern and eastern Utah through tonight. Additional rainfall totals of 0.50 to 1.00 inch, with locally up to 2.00 inches will occur in this area.
