* WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. In
portions of the West Desert, southwest winds will begin to
transition to northwest winds after around 6 PM MDT.

* WHERE...Portions of central and southern Utah as well as the
western Uinta Basin.

* WHEN...Until midnight MDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few
power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles and vehicles with trailers. Use extra caution.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 482 Western Uintah Basin,
Fire Weather Zone 483 Southern Ashley National Forest, Fire
Weather Zone 484 Tavaputs Plateau, Fire Weather Zone 489 San
Rafael Swell, Fire Weather Zone 493 Central Utah Mountains,
Fire Weather Zone 494 Henry Mountains, Fire Weather Zone 495
Color Country West Desert, Fire Weather Zone 496 Color Country
Mountains, Fire Weather Zone 497 Mojave Desert and Fire

* WINDS...Southwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph
redeveloping by late morning, and continuing through this
evening. A cold front will cross the area after midnight
resulting in a wind shift to the north across zones 495, 497
and western portions of 496, and northwest elsewhere.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Poor recovery in the 20 to 30 percent
range early this morning, then falling into the 8 to 13
percent range this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected to be
widespread. Any new fire starts or existing fires may spread
rapidly.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are expected. A combination of strong winds...low relative
humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire
behavior.
