...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THURSDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 494 AND 498... * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 494 Henry Mountains and Fire Weather Zone 498 Grand Staircase. * WINDS...South 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph developing both Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Winds diminishing after sunset each evening. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 8-10 percent both Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Overnight RH recovery 25-35 percent. * IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected. Any new fire starts or existing fires may spread rapidly. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or are imminent.
