...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 AM CDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Brazoria, Chambers, Galveston, Harris, Liberty and Montgomery. * WHEN...Until 1045 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 737 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 5 inches of rain have fallen so far this morning. Additional rain is ongoing or expected in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... At 710 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over southwestern League City, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Southeastern Pasadena, southeastern Pearland, League City, Texas City, Friendswood, La Porte, Deer Park, Alvin, Dickinson, La Marque, Santa Fe, Seabrook, Webster, Manvel, Kemah, Clear Lake, South Belt / Ellington, Nassau Bay, Taylor Lake Village, and El Lago. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Texas, including the following areas, in south central Texas, Coastal Jackson and Inland Jackson. In southeast Texas, Austin, Brazoria Islands, Brazos, Burleson, Coastal Brazoria, Coastal Galveston, Coastal Harris, Coastal Matagorda, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston Island, Grimes, Houston, Inland Brazoria, Inland Galveston, Inland Harris, Inland Matagorda, Madison, Matagorda Islands, Montgomery, Trinity, Walker, Waller, Washington and Wharton. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The next round of showers and thunderstorms is expected to pass through the region late tonight and Thursday morning. Though the band of storms should be moving at an average rate, upper level conditions are favorable for some training and regenerating storms. Several inches of rain in a short time period appear to be possible where this occurs. Model trends have shown the axis of heavier rainfall shifting south with each subsequent run with the latest suite showing deeper moisture advection and low level convergence setting up near the houston metro and southwestern counties. River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 540 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
