* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following
counties, Bandera, Blanco, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie,
Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, Llano, Maverick, Medina, Real, Uvalde, Val
Verde and Zavala.

* WHEN...Through Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...There is a potential for life threatening flooding
somewhere in the watch area. Considerable to locally catastrophic
flash flooding impacts are likely for the southern Edwards
Plateau, Rio Grande,  Hill Country, and US 90 corridor west of San
Antonio. Excessive runoff will result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Catastrophic
impacts are possible downstream of the heaviest rains. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings
may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks
and rivers are possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Intense rainfall rates and compounding effects from multiple
rounds of storms will maintain a dangerous flash flood threat
through Friday morning. Additional rain amounts of 2 to 4
inches are possible within the Flood Watch area with isolated
amounts up to 8 inches possible in the Rio Grande Plains,
southern Edwards Plateau, Hill Country, and US 90 corridor
west of San Antonio.

* At 935 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 12 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible
in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Center Point to Bergheim. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS
SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

River Flood Warning

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE TOMORROW MORNING...

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.

* WHERE...Guadalupe River at Hunt.

* WHEN...Until late tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding puts a few feet
of water over Schumacher Crossing near Hunt. Numerous secondary
roads and bridges are flooded and very dangerous.
At 18.0 feet, Automobiles parked near the North Fork of the
Guadalupe River at Camp Waldemar wash downstream. Roads and low
bridges near the North and South Forks flood badly and are
dangerous to motorists. Schumacher Crossing near Hunt is under six
feet of water. Some residents are cut off and should stay put.
Secondary roads and bridges near the river are extremely dangerous
to motorists. Near the USGS 1:5 year flood level.
At 22.0 feet, Major flooding of low areas of recreation camps
along the North and South Forks washes canoes and gear downstream
from docks and low areas. Roads near the river, including along
Highway 39, are extremely dangerous for auto traffic and travel is
highly discouraged. Autos in low areas of Camp Waldemar are swept
downstream. Flow is near the USGS 1:10 year flood level.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:50 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 12.2 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 7:50 AM CDT Thursday was 20.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.3
feet late this morning. It will then fall below flood stage
late this evening.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
21.4 feet on 08/13/1981.
