Peak heat index values of 103 to 107 degrees are forecast this
afternoon across portions of South-Central Texas. Some locations
south of San Antonio, across the inland Coastal Plain, Rio Grande,
and Winter Garden, could briefly see heat index values peak
around 108 to 110 degrees.

Take extra precautions if you have outdoor activities planned
today. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit
strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Drink plenty of
fluids and take frequent breaks out of the sun or in an air-
conditioned room. Take action when you see symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.

Finally, never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle.
Temperatures can quickly reach lethal limits.
