...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 AM CDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
counties, Austin and Washington.

* WHEN...Until 315 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 110 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Media reported some water covering portions of
Highway 105 near the Brenham area. Between 1 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Brenham.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT WHARTON...SOUTHEASTERN AUSTIN...
JACKSON...SOUTHERN FORT BEND...WESTERN BRAZORIA AND MATAGORDA
COUNTIES THROUGH 215 AM CDT...

At 108 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Beasley to 10 miles
south of Pierce to near Inez. Movement was southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Matagorda, western Rosenberg, Bay City, El Campo, Wharton, Edna,
Palacios, West Columbia, Sweeny, South Texas Nuclear Plant, Brazoria,
Needville, East Bernard, Ganado, Holiday Lakes, Pleak, Fairchilds,
Point Comfort, western Bailey's Prairie, and Beasley.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in League City.
