...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TO 7 PM CDT MONDAY... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 114 expected. * WHERE...Inland Cameron, Inland Kenedy, Inland Willacy, and Southern Hidalgo Counties. * WHEN...From 1 PM to 7 PM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Locations and communities not included in the Heat Advisory will likely see heat indices of 105 to 110 degrees. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives, neighbors, workers, and the elderly. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit exercise and strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
