Special Weather Statement
Issued: 6:12 PM Dec. 3, 2025 – National Weather Service
...LIGHT SNOWFALL POSSIBLE FOR SOME TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING... An upper level disturbance will bring some light precipitation to the South Plains area as early as this evening and lingering through Thursday morning. Precipitation will mostly be in the form of snow, and the best chances for light accumulations on the order of 1/2 inch will be along and north of a Morton to Plainview to Silverton line. Low temperatures tonight across this area are expected to be in the middle to upper 20s, so even light snow accumulations on area roadways will be capable of producing slick driving conditions. Farther to the south and east, roughly from Levelland and Lubbock to Matador and Childress could see some flurries to a dusting of snowfall. Cold temperatures on Thursday with highs in the 30s to lower 40s will quickly rebound into the 50s and 60s on Friday.
