...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes, southwestern Grant, Natchitoches, Sabine and southwestern Winn and northeast Texas, including the following county, Sabine. * WHEN...Until 1130 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 830 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 2 to in excess of 3 inches of rain have fallen since this afternoon. - Additional rainfall amounts up to a quarter inch are expected over the area. Minor flooding will continue through much of this evening. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Natchitoches, Milam, Many, Zwolle, Hemphill, Campti, Pineland, Montgomery, Allen, Pleasant Hill, Florien, Provencal, Natchez, Clarence, Goldonna, Noble, Fisher, Robeline, Powhatan and Mount Carmel. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
