...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 PM CDT THIS
EVENING FOR NORTHWESTERN ARMSTRONG, SOUTHWESTERN CARSON, SOUTHEASTERN
POTTER AND NORTHERN RANDALL COUNTIES...

At 926 PM CDT, emergency management reports multiple stranded
vehicles due to water over roadways. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Amarillo, Mescalero Park and Bushland.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Southern Carson County in the panhandle of Texas...

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 920 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2
inches of rain have fallen.
