The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a Fire Weather Watch, which is in effect from Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 210, 226, 235, 236, 335, 336, and 436. * WIND...Winds of 20 to 30 MPH with gusts up to 40 MPH * HUMIDITY...20 to 25 percent * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. ...GALE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Northwest winds 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 45 kt, rough bay waters, and Gulf seas 7 to 11 ft possible. * WHERE...Portions of Gulf of America. * WHEN...From Tuesday evening through late Wednesday night. * IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A cold front will push offshore by Tuesday evening bringing strong gusty winds and building seas in its wake. A few stronger thunderstorms are possible along and just ahead of the front as well. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for severe wind and seas. &&
