...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Northeastern Austin County in southeastern Texas... Southeastern Brazos County in southeastern Texas... Southern Grimes County in southeastern Texas... Harris County in southeastern Texas... Southwestern Montgomery County in southeastern Texas... Waller County in southeastern Texas... Eastern Washington County in southeastern Texas... * WHEN...Until 1130 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 918 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tomball, Navasota, Hempstead, Prairie View, Pinehurst, Washington, Hockley, Waller, Magnolia, Pine Island, Montgomery and Stagecoach. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Texas, including the following areas, in south central Texas, Coastal Jackson and Inland Jackson. In southeast Texas, Coastal Harris, Fort Bend, Grimes, Inland Harris, Montgomery, Walker, Waller and Wharton. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms capable of producing heavy downpours will impact the watch area through Friday evening. Embedded training rain rates of 2-4 inches per hour will be possible with the deep tropical airmass overhead. Locations that experience training storms with heavier rainfall rates may experience rapid runoff that could result in flash flooding. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
