Special Weather Statement
Issued: 9:50 PM May. 6, 2025 – National Weather Service
...STRONG WINDS POSSIBLE LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING IN WAKE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS... As a line of strong to severe thunderstorms progress east across Deep East Texas and North Louisiana, strong east northeast winds associated with a wake low pressure area will develop in wake of these storms. Look for winds to gust to near or in excess of 40 mph across much of East Texas, extreme Southeast Oklahoma, Southwest Arkansas, and portions of Northwest and Northcentral Louisiana. Small limbs and isolated power outages will be possible. Look for these winds to gradually diminish from west to east by early evening as these storms exit the region.
