...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Harris and Montgomery. * WHEN...Until 930 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 816 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Humble, Jersey Village, Greater Greenspoint, Aldine, northern Northside / Northline, Spring, Spring Branch North, Spring Branch West, Addicks Park Ten, Kingwood, Willowbrook, Greater Inwood, Hidden Valley, Acres Home, Fairbanks / Northwest Crossing, Carverdale, Hurricane Harbor Splashtown, Central Northwest, Westbranch and Bush Intercontinental Airport. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. &&

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following areas, Inland Harris, Montgomery and Waller. * WHEN...Through Monday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Slow moving, training showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop somewhere within the watch area this afternoon and continue into this evening or overnight tonight. Generally expecting totals of 1 to 3 inches, but isolated higher amounts of 3 to 6 inches will be possible if strong thunderstorms move over the same area.
