Backwater flooding up Thomas Lake in Walker County floods the boat ramp in the Green Rich Shores Subdivision in Walker County. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 133.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 133.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:30 PM CDT Monday was 133.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 133.8 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then rise to 134.1 feet Friday morning. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE TUESDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Brazos, Grimes, Houston, Madison, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity and Walker. * WHEN...From Tuesday morning through late Tuesday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A strong storm system will produce showers, heavy at times, and thunderstorms across the region on Tuesday. Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches can be broadly expected across SE Texas, though higher amounts of 3 to 6 inches will be possible in the watch area. Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night will be the main timeframe to monitor for heavy rainfall over the current watch area, especially as some of these storms could become strong at times.
