...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 PM CST THIS EVENING... ...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of north central Texas, including the following counties, Dallas and Tarrant. * WHEN...Until 1045 PM CST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - thunderstorms that have brought heavy rain to the area continue to move off slowly to the east. As waters recede, urban and small stream flooding will continue. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are forecast. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Dallas, Arlington, Garland, Irving, Grand Prairie, Mesquite, Mansfield, Desoto, Cedar Hill, Duncanville, Lancaster, Balch Springs, Glenn Heights, Highland Park, Hutchins, Cockrell Hill, Rendon, Sunnyvale, Ovilla and Cedar Hill State Park. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. &&

This will likely cause urban and small stream flooding. Low lying and/or poor drainage areas will experience minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are forecast. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Irving, Carrollton, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Euless, Bedford, Grapevine, Keller, Coppell, Hurst, The Colony, Southlake, Colleyville, Corinth, Highland Village, Trophy Club and Lake Dallas.
