...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Greens Bayou at U.S. Hwy 59.

* WHEN...Until late this evening.

* IMPACTS...At 55.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding begins as water
escapes the north side of the upstream bank at U.S. Highway 59.
Water is close to inundating the southbound feeder road south of
the channel.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 52.2 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 52.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage late this
afternoon to 55.5 feet and fall below flood stage this
evening.
- Flood stage is 55.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
55.4 feet on 04/28/2009.

...POTENTIAL FOR LIFE THREATENING FLASH FLOODING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Texas, including
the following areas, in south central Texas, Coastal Jackson and
Inland Jackson. In southeast Texas, Austin, Bolivar Peninsula,
Brazoria Islands, Brazos, Burleson, Chambers, Coastal Brazoria,
Coastal Galveston, Coastal Harris, Coastal Matagorda, Colorado,
Fort Bend, Galveston Island, Grimes, Houston, Inland Brazoria,
Inland Galveston, Inland Harris, Inland Matagorda, Madison,
Matagorda Islands, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, San
Jacinto, Southern Liberty, Trinity, Walker, Waller, Washington and
Wharton.

* WHEN...Through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are
possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- There is an increased danger to lives and property due to
flash flooding. Flash Flooding is likely and considerable
flash flooding is possible.

Northern portions of the watch area have received 4 to 6
inches of rain. An additional 4-7 inches of rain is expected
areawide, with totals of 10"+ through midweek.
