* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of north central Texas, including the following
counties, Collin, Dallas, Denton, Kaufman, Rockwall and Tarrant.

* WHEN...Until 930 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain
due to thunderstorms. Rain gauge reports indicate up to 2
inches of rain have fallen in the past hour. Roads, low lying
and/or poor drainage areas will experience minor flooding in
the advisory area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Garland, Irving, Grand
Prairie, Mesquite, McKinney, Carrollton, Frisco, Richardson,
Lewisville, Allen, Flower Mound, Mansfield, Rowlett, Euless,
Desoto and Bedford.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Rockwall,
northwestern Kaufman, southeastern Collin and northeastern Dallas
Counties through 745 AM CDT...

At 716 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Lucas to near Garland. Movement was east at 25
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts 40 to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Dallas, Plano, Garland, Mesquite, McKinney, Richardson, Allen,
Rowlett, Wylie, Rockwall, Sachse, Terrell, Forney, Murphy, Royse
City, Fairview, Heath, Princeton, Fate, and Lucas.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 20 between mile markers 497 and 498.
Interstate 30 between mile markers 53 and 79.

* IMPACTS...At 88.0 feet, Moderate flooding will occur along the
creek. Ball fields at Moss Park are completely flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 70.5 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 84.0 feet.
- Flood stage is 84.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
this morning to a crest of 86.5 feet late this morning. It
will then fall below flood stage late this morning.
