* WHAT...Heat index values between 105 to 109 are expected again
today.

* WHERE...Much of southern Arkansas, northern Louisiana, and deep
east Texas and portions of northeast Texas.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 7 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids before, during and after exposure to the
heat, when possible stay in an air-conditioned room, or at least
take shade breaks out of the sun to hydrate. And remember to check
up on relatives, neighbors and outside pets.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING UNTIL FURTHER
NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Sabine River at Longview.

* WHEN...From Saturday morning until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 28.0 feet, Lowland flooding will continue for several
days. Oil field operations will be curtailed and timber resources
will suffer severe flooding. Fisherman should use caution as
currents are swift.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:00 PM CDT Friday the stage was 24.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow morning and continue rising to a crest of 27.2 feet
Tuesday morning.
- Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
27.2 feet on 01/22/1991.

decrease over the next several days.

- At 8:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 32.8 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:15 PM CDT Friday was 32.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Wednesday morning and continue falling to 25.1 feet
Wednesday evening.
- Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
33.0 feet on 03/09/1970.
