...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Texas, including
the following areas, in south central Texas, Coastal Jackson and
Inland Jackson. In southeast Texas, Brazoria Islands, Coastal
Brazoria, Coastal Galveston, Coastal Matagorda, Fort Bend,
Galveston Island, Inland Brazoria, Inland Galveston, Inland
Matagorda, Matagorda Islands and Wharton.

* WHEN...Through Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Areas along the coast, especially Matagorda and Brazoria
Counties, received 6-8" of rainfall over the past two days.
These areas in particular are vulnerable to additional rounds
of rainfall over the next 24-48 hours, which brings the
potential for flash flooding. The next round of rain is
expected late this evening or Friday morning. Rainfall rates
are expected to peak in the 3-4+" per hour range in the
heaviest downpours. Additional rainfall totals through Monday
are anticipated to be in the 4-6" range with isolated higher
totals. The Flood Watch will likely be expanded going into
the weekend.
