...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST SUNDAY... * WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total sleet and snow accumulations between 1 and 4 inches with up to around 5 inches near the Red River. Ice accumulations between one quarter and one half of an inch. * WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Texas. * WHEN...Until noon CST Sunday. * IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of ice and snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions can be found at drivetexas.org. Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
