* WHAT...Heat index values 108 to 110 likely.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west
central Louisiana and southeast Texas.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 7 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Neches River at Neches River Saltwater Barrier.

* WHEN...Until Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 6.0 feet, Colliers Ferry Park is under water, and
flooding of secondary roads near the river can be expected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:15 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 5.5 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 7:15 PM CDT Sunday was 5.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 5.8 feet
tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage late
Tuesday evening.
- Flood stage is 4.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, Water inundates roads in lowland areas near
the river. Low spots on Old Sour Lake Road are under water.

- At 7:45 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 27.7 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 22.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 7:45 PM CDT Sunday was 27.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Tuesday afternoon and continue falling to 21.0 feet Friday
evening.
