...HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM NOON MONDAY TO 9 PM MDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Temperatures up to 108 degrees expected. * WHERE...In New Mexico, portions of Dona Ana and Luna Counties. In Texas, portions of El Paso and Hudspeth Counties. This includes the Rio Grande Valley, Mesilla Valley, and lower Mimbres Basin. * WHEN...From noon Monday through 9 PM MDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses, especially during extended periods of time outdoors. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. &&
