Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Broadcast media reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Amarillo, Canyon, Lake Tanglewood, Mescalero Park and Timbercreek Canyon. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A slow moving weather system that has ingested Hurricane Polo's moisture bringing heavy rainfall to the panhandles. This has the potential to be a high end rain event for portions of the panhandles.
