...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR SOUTH CENTRAL EDWARDS AND
SOUTHERN REAL COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 130 AM CDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However small
hail, gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with this
thunderstorm.

Issued: 5:23 AM Apr. 15, 2026 – National Weather Service
...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northeastern Kinney,
western Edwards and central Real Counties through 130 AM CDT...

At 1223 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 14
miles west of Montell, or 21 miles northeast of Brackettville, moving
northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Rocksprings, Camp Wood, Barksdale, Tuff, Vance, Devil's Sinkhole
State Natural Area, and Kickapoo Cavern State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM CDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following
counties, Edwards, Kinney and Val Verde.

* WHEN...Until 300 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1203 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Del Rio, Rocksprings, Loma Alta, Lake View, Carta Valley,
Amanda, Standart, Laughlin AFB, Val Verde Park, Long Point,
Barksdale, Kickapoo Cavern State Park, Vinegarone, Escondido

Ramp, Devils River State Nat Area Big Satan, Rough Canyon

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
