...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Coke, Runnels, Schleicher and Tom Green. * WHEN...Until 430 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 132 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms from Robert Lee to San Angelo To Ozona and westward. Movement was northeast at 30 mph. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.25 and 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... San Angelo, Ballinger, Winters, Eldorado, Robert Lee, Blackwell, Christoval, Maverick, Bronte, Miles, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Wall, Veribest, Lake Nasworthy, O.C. Fisher Reservoir, San Angelo State Park, Twin Buttes Reservoir, Orient, Grape Creek and Vancourt. - This includes the following Low Water Crossings... Howard and Webster, College Hills and Millbrook, Jackson From Knickerbocker to South Bryant, Southwest Blvd and Loop 306, FM 2334 crossing Dry Lipan Creek, FM 1692 crossing Sales Branch, Huntington and Sunset, FM 1692 crossing Concho River, FM 2334 crossing Ninemile Creek and FM 1692 crossing The Draw. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Brown, Callahan, Coke, Coleman, Concho, Crockett, Irion, Kimble, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Nolan, Runnels, San Saba, Schleicher, Sterling, Sutton, Taylor and Tom Green. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A line of showers and thunderstorms will move through West Central Texas late morning through this evening. Heavy rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible as the storms move through, A few areas may see up to 5 inches. With soils already saturated, rainfall will quickly run off and produce flash flooding.
