At 703 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Andice to 6 miles south of Windemere to near Buda. Movement was east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Kyle, Taylor, Buda, Elgin, Bastrop, Granger, Tanglewood Forest, Serenada, Austin Bergstrom Int Airport, Windemere, Anderson Mill, Leander, Hutto, Manor, and West Lake Hills. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding and flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Atascosa, Bandera, Bastrop, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Comal, De Witt, Fayette, Frio, Gillespie, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hays, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Lavaca, Lee, Llano, Medina, Travis, Williamson and Wilson. * WHEN...From Friday evening through Monday evening. * IMPACTS...There is a potential for life threatening flooding somewhere in the watch area. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms will be capable of producing high rainfall rates which could quickly lead to flooding across the area.
