...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM FRIDAY TO 7 AM CDT
SATURDAY...

* WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 113. For the
Excessive Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions with heat index
values up to 118 expected.

* WHERE...Duval, Inland Kleberg, Inland Nueces, Jim Wells, La Salle,
McMullen, and Webb Counties.

* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 10 AM CDT Friday. For the
Excessive Heat Warning, from 10 AM Friday to 7 AM CDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Hot conditions overnight will not allow
bodies to sufficiently recover from daytime heat, further
increasing the likelihood of heat related illness.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, stay informed.
