...EXTREME COLD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM SATURDAY TO NOON CST MONDAY... * WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 8 below expected. * WHERE...All of west central Texas. * WHEN...From 6 PM Saturday to noon CST Monday. * IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 10 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... An Extreme Cold Warning means that dangerously low temperatures are expected for a prolonged period of time. Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to these temperatures. Wear protective clothing such as a hat, face mask, and heavy gloves or mittens if you have plans to be outdoors. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing. &&

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM CST SUNDAY... * WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to 3 inches and ice accumulations between two tenths and one half of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...All of west central Texas. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 PM CST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
