...The Flood Warning remains in effect...

The Flood Warning continues for
the Sequatchie River Near Whitwell TN.
* At 7:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 2.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow evening to a crest of 14.5 feet early Saturday morning.
It will then fall below flood stage late Saturday evening.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet, Flooding of agricultural land occurs.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet, Flooding of agricultural land becomes more
extensive. Water reaches the bottom of the river gage house.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 14.7
feet on 07/08/2013.

EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of southwest North Carolina, east Tennessee and southwest
Virginia, including the following areas, in southwest North
Carolina, Cherokee and Clay. In east Tennessee, Anderson, Bledsoe,
Blount Smoky Mountains, Bradley, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke Smoky
Mountains, East Polk, Grainger, Hamblen, Hamilton, Hancock,
Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Knox, Loudon, Marion, McMinn, Meigs,
Morgan, North Sevier, Northwest Blount, Northwest Carter,
Northwest Cocke, Northwest Greene, Northwest Monroe, Rhea, Roane,
Scott, Sequatchie, Sevier Smoky Mountains, Southeast Carter,
Southeast Greene, Southeast Monroe, Sullivan, Unicoi, Union,
Washington and West Polk. In southwest Virginia, Lee, Russell,
Scott, Washington and Wise.

* From 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ this evening through Thursday afternoon.

* Periods of heavy rainfall are expected across the area in
association with remnants from Hurricane Zeta as it moves further
inland. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are expected with
isolated totals in excess of 4 inches possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
