SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 511, PREVIOUSLY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT /9 PM MDT/ THIS EVENING, IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT /11 PM MDT/ TONIGHT FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN SOUTH DAKOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 7 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA HUGHES JONES LYMAN STANLEY SULLY IN NORTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA DEWEY POTTER THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF FORT PIERRE, GETTYSBURG, ISABEL, KENNEBEC, MURDO, ONIDA, AND PIERRE.

...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN HAND...EASTERN SULLY...HYDE AND NORTHEASTERN HUGHES COUNTIES THROUGH 1015 PM CDT... At 935 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 13 miles north of Holabird, or 15 miles northwest of Highmore, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Highmore, Harrold, Ree Heights, Polo, Holabird, and Stone Lake. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
