9 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR
PORTIONS OF NORTHEASTERN SOUTH DAKOTA...

* AFFECTED AREA...In South Dakota, Marshall, Roberts and Day.

* WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. The
strongest winds will be in the favored Sisseton hills downslope
areas during the late morning, before slowly diminishing in the
mid to late afternoon.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 19 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become
difficult to control or suppress.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

* WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph
expected, with locally higher wind gusts in the downslope enhanced
areas along Interstate 29 between Peever and Summit.

* WHERE...Codington, Deuel, Grant, Marshall, and Roberts Counties.

* WHEN...From 7 AM to 5 PM CDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few
power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
