CDT /6 PM MDT/ FRIDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR
CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST SOUTH DAKOTA...

The National Weather Service in Aberdeen has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 9 AM CDT /8 AM MDT/ to 7 PM CDT /6 PM MDT/ Friday.

* AFFECTED AREA...In South Dakota, Spink, Clark, Codington,
Hamlin, Deuel, Stanley, Sully, Hughes, Hyde and Hand.

* WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 17 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become
difficult to control or suppress.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
