* Until 545 PM EDT.

* At 511 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
waterspouts was located over Little River Reef, moving northeast at
20 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
Little River Reef, Shallotte River Inlet Sea Buoy, Little River
Entrance, and Little River Sea Buoy.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
If caught on the open water, prepare for deteriorating conditions.
Make sure you and your crew are wearing properly fitted life jackets.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast South Carolina, including the
following county, Georgetown.

* WHEN...Until 730 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 426 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding. A Flash Flood Warning may be needed if excessive
rainfall amounts are observed.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Georgetown, DeBordieu Colony and Georgetown Memorial
Hospital.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Santee River near Jamestown.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, several dirt logging roads are impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1030 AM EDT Thursday, the stage was 9.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
Friday morning and continue rising to 12.5 feet early Monday
afternoon. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
