...LOW CLOUDS AND FOG TO SPREAD SOUTH ALONG THE COAST... An area of low clouds and fog will spread along the coast between South Santee River and Edisto Beach this morning as a cold front drops south through the region. The fog could become locally dense at times with visibilities dropping below 1 NM, especially within 5 NM of the coast and in the Charleston Harbor. The reduced visibilities should improve by mid-morning as the front pushes into Southeast Georgia. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...LOCALLY DENSE FOG THIS MORNING AS A COLD FRONT DROPS SOUTH... An area of low clouds and fog will spread into Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties this morning as a cold front drops south through the area. The fog could become locally dense at times with visibilities dropping to 1/4 mile or less. Conditions will quickly improve by mid-morning as the front sinks into Southeast Georgia. Motorists should be alert to rapidly changing conditions. In addition, mariners on inland waterways such as the Intracoastal Waterway and Lake Moultrie should be prepared for low visibilities. Use fog signals if necessary. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If driving, slow down and leave extra distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed. &&
