At 253 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near St. Matthews, or 13 miles north of Brookdale, moving north at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Columbia, Sumter, Orangeburg, McEntire Air Base, Brookdale, Shaw Air Base, St. Matthews, Eastover, Congaree National Park, Hopkins, Oakland, Claflin College, Horrel Hill, Sandy Run, Fort Jackson, Gadsden, Woodfield, Cameron, Fort Motte, and Fort Jackson Wildcat Road. This includes Interstate 26 between mile markers 128 and 152. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
