The National Weather Service in Charleston has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina... * Until 100 AM EDT. * At 1149 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1 inch in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Mount Pleasant, Isle Of Palms, Awendaw, Price Inlet, Capers Inlet, Bull Island, Capers Island, Dewees Island and Whitehall Terrace. This includes the following streams and drainages... Capers Island, Bulls Bay, Wando River, Dewees Island, US-17 Charleston National, Mt Pleasant Airport and Bull Island. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
