...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level
along shorelines and tidal waterways (7.0 to 7.2 feet Mean
Lower Low Water at Charleston).

* WHERE...Coastal Colleton and Charleston Counties.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...This could result in some roads becoming impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tide will occur around 6:57 PM today
at Charleston. Saltwater inundation will be possible 1 to 2
hours before and after high tide.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.

impact information.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the
following counties, Charleston and Colleton.

* WHEN...Until 645 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 343 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Edisto Beach, Johns Island, West Ashley, James Island,
Hollywood, Folly Beach, Ravenel, Seabrook Island, Kiawah
Island and Meggett.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
