Lexington, west central Sumter and east central Richland Counties
through 800 PM EDT...

At 726 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Oak Grove to 8 miles north of Eastover.
Movement was southeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Columbia, West Columbia, Cayce, Forest Acres, St. Andrews, McEntire
Air Base, Dentsville, Oak Grove, South Congaree, Pine Ridge, Arcadia
Lakes, Eastover, Hopkins, Columbia International University, Horrel
Hill, Riverbanks Zoo, SC State Farmer's Market, Woodfield,
Sesquicentennial State Park, and Columbia Metro Airport.

* WHERE...Portions of east central Georgia and central South
Carolina.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
