PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. &&

For the Gale Watch, northeast winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 35 kt and seas 5 to 8 feet possible. * WHERE...Rhode Island Sound and Block Island Sound. * WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, from 8 AM this morning to 5 PM EDT this afternoon. For the Gale Watch, from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
