...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM AST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Cabo Rojo. * WHEN...Until 630 PM AST. * IMPACTS...Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 314 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. &&

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT CENTRAL INTERIOR AND SOUTHWESTERN MUNICIPALITIES THROUGH 430 PM AST... At 304 PM AST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Villalba to 6 miles north of San German. Movement was southwest at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall. * WHERE...All of Puerto Rico. * WHEN...Through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. Landslides in areas of steep terrain, particularly along the Cordillera Central. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected this afternoon, with isolated higher amounts, especially along the interior. Elsewhere, rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible with any thunderstorm activity. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
