...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR EASTERN ALLEGHENY, CENTRAL WASHINGTON AND NORTHWESTERN WESTMORELAND COUNTIES... At 742 PM EDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Water over roadways has been observed. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Public reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Monroeville, McMurray, McKeesport, Canonsburg, Gastonville, Plum, West Mifflin, Baldwin, Upper St. Clair, Scott Township, Wilkinsburg, Whitehall, South Park Township and New Kensington. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
