...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 1 AM EST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Northern Erie and Southern Erie Counties. * WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 1 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions with slower travel likely. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A lake effect band will develop along the lakeshore and gradually push inland through the day Friday. Snowfall rates of up to one inch per hour will accompany the strongest portion of the band Friday afternoon and early evening. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel.
