At 654 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 13 miles west of Kane to near Marienville to near Clarion. Movement was east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... St. Marys, DuBois, Clearfield, Ridgway, Johnsonburg, Sandy, Cameron, Woodland, Curwensville, Emporium, Penfield, Hyde, Plymptonville, Rockton, Karthaus, Wilcox, James City, Force, Benezette, and East Branch Dam. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. Rainfall rates could exceed 3 inches per hour where several storms track east-southeast across the same locations.
