THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 630 TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING AREAS UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING IN PENNSYLVANIA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA BERKS LEHIGH NORTHAMPTON IN NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA CARBON MONROE THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALLENTOWN, BETHLEHEM, EASTON, JIM THORPE, READING, AND STROUDSBURG.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northern Delaware, including the following area, New Castle, New Jersey, including the following areas, Camden, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Northwestern Burlington, Somerset, Sussex, Warren and Western Monmouth, and Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Berks, Delaware, Eastern Chester, Eastern Montgomery, Lehigh, Lower Bucks, Northampton, Philadelphia, Upper Bucks, Western Chester and Western Montgomery. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop by midday today. Some of these showers and thunderstorms are expected to produce very heavy rainfall. Rainfall totals of 1-2 inches of rain can be expected with localized amounts of 3-5 inches possible in the strongest storms.
